The meeting on June 13th was co-hosted by Meg and Marcia. Also in attendance were Cyndi and her niece Anna, Susan, Debbie, and Estela. Meg served an 'Impossible Coconut Custard Pie' and handed out the recipe. Marcia brought a Cucumber-Dill Spread, a white cheese jalapeno dip, and a Ham, Garlic, and Chive Appetizer Spread, which was everyone's favorite. The recipe is as follows:
**********
Ham, Garlic, and Chive Appetizer Spread (from Smithfield Ham)
1 cup ham, finely chopped
1 8-oz pkg Garlic and Chive Cream Cheese
1/4 cup Mayo
1 teas. Dijon mustard
3/4 teas. cayenne pepper
2 T. chopped fresh parsley
1 T chopped chives
Combine ham, cream cheese, mayo, mustard, and cayenne pepper in food processor and pulse until ham is minced (do not over-process.) Transfer to a medium bowl and fold in parsley and chives. Spoon into a decorative bowl and refrigerate until firm. Garnish with chives and serve with crackers or flatbreads.
(Note: Marcia couldn't find the garlic and chive cream cheese, so she used onion and chive flavor instead and added 1/8 teas. garlic powder.)

SHOW-AND-TELL:
Cyndi showed off a gorgeous appliqued quilt she bought at a steal of a price. It appears to have been made in the forties or fifties, maybe from a kit? The border treatment is amazing, and the applique is needle-turn.
Meg showed off this beautiful strip quilt:
Isn't Susan's Coneflower wall-hanging gorgeous?
Susan's watercolor quilt that she made for her husband's garden shed!
Susan put together these table runners and table toppers, which will make lovely gifts.
Estela showed her beautiful Texas themed quilt and her Christmas Box quilt. Great idea for a guest bed!
Susan showed this darling pot-holder she made. We remember our grandparents having these in their kitchens!
We have been bringing orphan blocks (those not wanted or needed by the maker) and fitting them together into donation or auction quilts. Meg showed this one, which she put together by surrounding each odd-sized block with sashing and cutting them to size.
Meg showed two quilts made and donated by Iris.
Cyndi's niece Anna is learning to quilt, and showed one of the blocks she has learned to make. Nice job, Anna!
Marcia showed a finished Zigzag donation quilt top destined for Moore, OK tornado relief.
Meg showed other donation quilts, most of them from the Orphan Block project. Some of these will be up for bid in our August Auction.

PROGRAM:
We went through the remaining orphan blocks and divided them into sets. Each person took at least one set to work on. We stuck Meg with the hardest one, since she is good at challenges. Next month we hope to have some of these finished quilts ready for show-and-tell.

UPCOMING:
Susan will be hosting next month, since Sharon will be unable to attend.
We are looking for someone to act as auctioneer for the August Auction. If you would like to try, please let us know at the July meeting. Otherwise we will just have to choose someone.....
